Eight people remain unaccounted for in Niakeh Town, Gbarpolu County following the reported invasion of the area by the country devil.
Dozens of people mainly men reportedly fled in disarray when the poro society devil ceased control of the town.
A citizen of the area, Charles Loyal, told Star Radio he survived the attack because he was out of the town when the incident happened.
Mr. Loyal who is the General Youth Coordinator of Ngorlorla alleged the attack was masterminded by Gbarpolu Senator Daniel Nathan.
According to Mr. Loyal, Senator Nathan instructed the Paramount Chief of the area to unleash the country devil to teach the people of Niakeh Town a lesson.
He alleged Senator Nathan’s son, Benedict was seen with the country devil’s team that invaded the border town of Niakeh.
Mr. Loyal alleged citizens of the area are being targeted because they have opposed Senator Nathan’s apparent lack of transparency.
The Gbarpolu youth official alleged jungle justice was taking place in that part of Liberia and called on central Government to intervene.
A local advocacy group Peace Interaction Network says it has formally notified UNMIL about the unfolding situation in Gbarpolu County.
When contacted, Senator Nathan denied all the citizens’ claim saying he has never visited Niakeh since he became Senator.
He also said for the past three months now, he has not seen the paramount chief being refereed to by the Niakeh citizens.
