Dr. Togba-Nah Tipoteh in a statement said President Johnson Sirleaf has no basis for saying that poor people are better off because she admitted that she does not know how many people are unemployed in the country.
He insists that poor people can only be better off by working for themselves or working for others and having a better living standard.
According to him, as president Sirleaf has been in office for years without caring to establish the level of unemployment, “she has demonstrated the lack of interest in making poor people better off and therefore, she must not be given a second term of office”.
Commenting on the issue of corruption the APD leader said that it is clear that the president does not practice zero tolerance for corruption. He pointed out that President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf practices positive tolerance for corruption through the public undermining, by top government officials, of the work of the government.
A second term for Ellen, he said, would make corruption worse. He said the way forward according to the people’s response to the president’s 2011 annual message calls for telling the truth to prevent falsehood from being used to bring violent crisis again in Liberia with more suffering to the poor people of Liberia.
